Zoo Day + Easter Egg Hunt | Weekend Fun

| Friday |
To kick off our busy weekend, we decided to take a last minute trip to the Nashville Zoo. We had my sister (Abba) and Grandmommy tag along with us. Two of the babes favorite people in the entire world!
Heidi was having such an off day, and sometimes you just have to hug a goat. This was the highlight of her day, and probably my favorite picture I took from the day!

This goat's face is cracking me up. I lol every time i scroll by.

We rode all of the rides without having to wait in line for long at all. Heidi's favorite part of the zoo was visiting the cows..something she can see every. SINGLE. day?! haha. And this carousel ride.We had to go twice!

Thomas was in love with the train ride! He also tried climbing into the sheep pin. Needless to say they love the farm animals most of all!

| Saturday |

On Saturday we had our first Easter egg hunt of the season, and our very first Easter bunny sighting, EVER.. you can tell the kids weren't the fondest of the Easter bunny, and he kind of looks a bit suspicious anyways.. haha But the rain didn't stop the kids from having a fun "indoor" egg hunt.

This boy jumped right into the fun. He didn't hold back when it came to hunting those eggs.
He must have made up for his lack of hunting last year. Remember here when he spent his first Easter sick, at home with Mama?! Well he definitely made up for it this year.

One egg hunt down one to go!

+ Happy Easter week, everyone.

Michigan road trip

We made a quick trip to Michigan to visit John's family last week. The kids were extremely excited to find snow STILL on the ground when we arrived! Or I should say, Heidi was the excited one. Thomas, not so much! I think it was more of the bundling part that he totally HATED!
On our drive up we even drove through some snow. Which was slightly terrifying for this southern girl! Thank goodness, I have a husband who can maneuver his way through the white fluff pretty well!

We visited cousins, went to museums, and ate a ton of delicious food. The trip was such a nice break from the ordinary everyday. The babies are getting so big and it's getting a lot easier to take off for trips, without needing the whole house packed up with us! So bittersweet that they are growing up so terribly fast.

Day One | Dino Museum

One of the coolest museums ever.. Both of the babies were completely obsessed with the gigantic life- like dinosaurs.
 (And that totally surprised me!!)
I just knew one of them would be terrified. Thomas doesn't even like random dogs barking, but an enormous dino, he's cool with?! His "WOW" expression in the pic says it all.

 Day Two | Discovery Museum

Another day, another museum! We always make a point to visit their local discovery center when we visit. It has everything you can think of and more. It is a favorite of theirs. Is this mini air stream not the most adorable thing you've ever seen? They spent a lot of time in there! I want one!

Time For Snow

Happy for a hot minute..

Never mind Mom, I hate this stuff!

John Thomas says, "I quit"

Heidi would stay out forever. My little snow bunny!

Dee Dee pulling Thomas is the sled. So fun!

my snow angel

Playing in the snow makes for a tired little one. She loved naps with Dee Dee! How sweet are these pics?!

Thomas watching his Papa rock out on the drums. I think it's in their blood to be a drummer boy in this family.

Visiting with Great Grandma.

Now for the ten hour drive HOME!

I sure do love spending time with my family. These trips will soon be ingrained in their little minds forever. Family is everything. God sure blessed us with people who love us and our babies so much!

Have a great week everyone.

DIY Barn Door

So our barn door finally went up, and our children haven't tried hanging from it yet, so that's a good thing!! It has been an eventful week to say the least. John built the door and stained it over the weekend. Monday it was ready to be installed. We ordered a hanging kit from amazon, it arrived Monday. Soo John got started and stayed up till about 10 pm putting in on the tracks. (remind you that he starts his days at 2 am) So that was really late for a weeknight.

We were in bed at 10:15 to immediately be woken up by a very sick little baby.
John Thomas had shortness of breath with wheezing, and that terrified both of us! To the ER we went, dropping Heidi off at my parents house on the way, we still made it there pretty quickly. He had gotten much better by the time we arrived. THANK goodness!

It turned out to be a bad case of croup, which was causing his little airway to be inflamed and causing the wheezing sound. They gave him an oral steroid, monitored him, then we were on our way back home at 1 am. Fast forward 6 hours and we had a much better feeling little man. (Thank you modern medicine.)
We at least had a really pretty barn door waiting for us when we got home. John still managed to go to work that next day on only 2 hours asleep. What a trooper. I think he's Super Man!

 Polly on the door.

hanging the door. yay!!

hardware to complete it!

My husband is pretty handy, so proud of him! I love the door and how great it turned out. Plus, it really does make a difference it cutting down noise from washer/dryer! 100% Babe!

lumber was purchased from a local lumberyard, it turned out to be much cheaper than other stores

If anyone is interested in measurements just message me. I'll have John add it all up for ya. We might be putting a second door in our master bedroom going into the master bath. It's still lacks a door, so well see!
